This coming weekend Firestorm Games in Cardiff are hosting a veritable festival of Magic the Gathering. Whilst the main event of the weekend is the Welsh National Championship, there are plenty of events with great prizes open to players of any nationality. If you are looking to grind PPTQS or want to play eternal formats for big prizes then there is something for you!

Troll Trader Cards will be vending during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), offering a wide array of cards from every format. Most of the events will pay out prizes in the form of Troll Trader store credit, allowing players the opportunity to turn wins into chase cards.

Schedule:

Friday 13th October: 
5pm – Close –Last Chance Qualifiers and Trials

Saturday 14th October:
10am – Welsh National Championship  The winner of this event will be crowned as Welsh National Champion and, along with the runner-up, receive an invite and airfare to Nice (France) to compete and represent Wales in the World Magic Cup (supplied by WotC).

11am – Ixalan Sealed PPTQ for Pro Tour Dominaria The first of two PPTQS during the weekend will feature the brand new Sealed format with a Draft top 8. Players from any country are welcome! All players who pre-register will be entered into a random Ixalan booster box giveaway.

2pm – The Legacy Challenge A great opportunity to grab your Legacy deck and enjoy Cardiff’s vibrant eternal scene. This event will comprise 5 rounds of swiss. All players who pre-register will be entered into a random Ixalan booster box giveaway.

Sunday 15th  October
10am- The Firestorm Cup The first ever Firestorm Cup! This tournament will be an annual competition with the winner taking home a trophy and the title of Firestorm Magic the Gathering Champion. This Event will be Modern with a Top 8. All players from any country are welcome and encouraged to play in this event! All players who pre-register will receive a special Inkmoth Nexus promo card (while stocks last)

1pm – Standard PPTQ for Pro Tour Dominaria – The final event of the weekend features the new Standard format and offers early qualification to the RPTQ. Swiss and Top 8. Open to players from any country. All players who pre-register will be entered into a random Ixalan booster box giveaway.
