So, as we are all now painfully aware the expedition lands are just as beautiful as they are expensive.

However, just how rare are these expeditions? I have heard some people say the chances are around 1 in 500 and some say there is around a 0.7% chance that your booster will contain one. From personal experience, I have seen four of these lands opened thus far and there has not been that many packs cracked at all. Two were opened at a pre-release event I attended and two more opened from packs that I have seen personally. I have also seen stores close to me posting up pictures on various social media sites about their pulls at their pre-release events and obviously, as you do, I have heard stories from across the land of more being opened in stores further afield.

So, if we get down to some math real quick, around 170-200 packs were opened at my pre-release and 2 expeditions were pulled. So, if we are to go off of this, we could expect one every 85-100 packs. The odds given here aren’t that high at all and if we are to assume the same at other game stores in terms of numbers, these lands might just not be as rare and mythical as we were first led to believe.

Now I am not saying in anyway to go out and buy a couple of boxes and you’re golden because that is just not true. I have seen many box openings on YouTube before constructing this article and I have seen hundreds of packs cracked, none of which containing an expedition. From what I can gather, a lot more of these lands will be floating around shortly with the release of BFZ now upon us.

As unfortunate as it is to say it, there will be players out there looking to prey on those that are maybe not in the loop or others that are fairly new to the game. To be honest, I would hope there are some people out there that would educate people rather than take advantage, and speak up  if they see someone trying to persuade someone to part with their expedition for something far less valuable.

Overall, we can all agree that these lands really are something special that should be able to be enjoyed by everyone. I just hope this doesn’t bring out the worst in people and this set won’t be hoarded into oblivion by those only looking to make a financial gain by buying up tons of boxes and putting them away in their basement never to see the light of day again.
